Committee Activities: The Teaching of International Law Committee is currently developing an electronic Committee Membership Directory containing information about courses taught, publications, and research interests, so that members will be able to contact each other with questions or projects on teaching issues. The Committee has agreed to participate in a meeting at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) organized by the Teaching International Law Committee of the American Society of International Law (ASIL). This meeting will bring together ASIL Committee members, ABILA Committee members and members of the International Association of Law Schools (IALS) who teach international law and will focus on writing and publishing international law teaching materials.

Members of the ABILA Committee will also meet with Latin American law faculty colleagues at the fifth Global Legal Skills Conference to be held in Monterrey, Mexico from February, 25-27, 2010. The Committee is undertaking a survey of its members to determine interest in presenting a Workshop on Teaching International Law to be held in 2010 or 2011 as well as interest in developing materials for an International Legal Research Workshop directed at those who wish to teach international legal research or who wish to improve their own international legal research skills. This workshop may also produce publications on how to carry out international legal research effectively.
