2009 Resolution Supporting U.S. Accession to the Law of the Sea Convention:
RESOLVED, that the International Law Association (American Branch) Law of the Sea Committee, its Members speaking in private capacity and not for any government, governmental organization, nongovernmental organization or private organization with which they may be affiliated, no Members dissenting, supports United States Senate advice and consent, and United States accession, to the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, along with United States Senate advice and consent to, and United States ratification of, the 1994 Agreement Relating to the Implementation of Part XI of the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea of 10 December 1982, which is to be interpreted and applied together with the 1982 Convention as a single instrument, with such advice and consent, accession and ratification accompanied by appropriate understandings and declarations.
