Committee Mandate
The Islamic Law and Society Committee seeks to advance nuanced discussions and analysis of Islamic Law among international legal scholars and practitioners, as well as examine the plethora of interactions between religion, culture and law across diverse Muslim societies. Toward that end, the Committee issues publications and hosts panels that highlight and contextualize the variety of experiences found within and among Muslim-majority and diaspora communities.
